Most Microsoft 365 tenants are set up to work, not to be secure. This specialist course shows you which guardrails to put in place and in what order: the security baseline, Conditional Access, email and collaboration protection, data protection, device compliance and monitoring.

The final module prepares your tenant for Microsoft 365 Copilot by finding and fixing oversharing before an AI assistant surfaces it.

Use scripts at your own risk. The PowerShell scripts and commands in this course are provided for educational purposes only, “as is” and without warranty of any kind. Always review and test them in a non-production environment before use. You are solely responsible for any script or command you run in a production environment and for any resulting data loss, service interruption or other damage. Course Content

The Security Baseline
Establish where your tenant stands today, choose between Security Defaults and Conditional Access, and put your administrator accounts on a sound footing.

  • Secure Score and where to start
  • Security Defaults vs Conditional Access
  • Admin roles, separation and break-glass
  • Module 1 quiz: The Security Baseline

Identity Guardrails
Design a small, maintainable Conditional Access policy set, close off legacy authentication and risky sign-ins, and control how guests and external users reach your tenant.

Email and Collaboration Protection
Tune Microsoft Defender for Office 365, take email authentication all the way to enforcement, and set sharing guardrails for Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.

Data Protection
Classify and protect information with sensitivity labels, stop accidental leaks with data loss prevention, and understand what retention, eDiscovery and backup each do and do not cover.

Devices and Monitoring
Use Intune to make device health a condition of access, turn the audit log and alerts into something your team actually watches, and clean up permissions before Copilot exposes them.
